LEARN TO SAIL: This summer Willow Bank Yacht Club will offer United States Sailing Association (USSA) sailing instruction to adults (18+). The WBYC Adult Learn to Sail program is open to both members and non-members. Pre-scheduled group sessions consist of 12 hours of lessons over 4 weekdays. Private lessons are also available and can be scheduled at your convenience, on your boat or ours.

Adult sailing sessions offer an excellent way to get out on the water and learn the basics of small boat sailing. The classes start with the basics including rigging, points of sail, sail trim, boat-handling, and boating safety. Students develop their skills through on-the-water sessions, “chalk talk” discussions, and work in textbooks. Classes are open to all levels.

The text "Start Sailing Right" will supplement your course. Books will be available at the time of your class for an additional $15 (purchase is optional). There is some basic paperwork that will need to be completed at the time of your class. Please make sure you bring any pertinent medical documentation the first day.

REFRESHER COURSE
Are you unsure if you remember how everything works, and you're dreading letting another summer go by without sailing? This is the program for you! We are aware that not everyone can get on a boat as often as they would like, and that everyone can get a little rusty after the off-season (or two)... but there's no need to take a whole sailing course. If you just need to brush up your boat handling skills, let us help you get back on board! We make it our goal to give you the knowledge and confidence to safely get on the water again.

Note: Adult Sailing Students are required to supply their own Personal Safety Device (life jacket). See tips on buying a PFD
